What is Normann?

Well, what is Normann? Is it a state of mind? Is it a UFO cult? It could have been. But it is not. I suppose Normann would have been a strange name for both the things mentioned above. For the moment the truth is that Normann is an extremely small production company, with only one employee: Gisle Normann Melhus. Yeah, yeah, I have named the company after myself. It is kind of lame, I know. But then again – it will be really impressive when, in a not so distant future, I have plenty employees calling me boss and telling other people that they work for Normann. I can’t wait.

Normann is situated in Trondheim, the third largest city in Norway. Being the third largest city in a not-so-very-populated country like Norway, is not very impressive at all. But Trondheim is a very nice city, and we also have the world’s most northern cathedral and a football team, Rosenborg, that used to be really awesome. They qualified for the champion’s league about ten years in a row. But I guess I should write some more about the company. The ambition of Normann is to develop, produce and co-produce high quality feature films and TV- drama. I hope we start shooting the first feature film in the second half of 2010. In the meantime the company will produce a couple of shorts and an animation show called The Viking Academy that will become as successful as South Park in Europe. So if you have some money to invest give me a call. I´m not kidding! I would have invested a lot of money in the Viking Academy if I could. You can also call if you are a producer needing a co-producer in Trondheim, if you have written a really great script or if you are a really talented director. And one more thing: I would really like a call from you if you are a really talented producer. I’m hiring as soon as I can afford it. This would be some time next year.
